Current legislation requires that employers undertake a duty of care to ensure that only those staff holding a valid driving licence (for the category of vehicle being driven), MOT and vehicle insurance inclusive of cover for business use are permitted to drive their own vehicle for business purposes.
We understand the importance of the employer’s duty of care in relation to the owner driver fleet and the risk to the organisation if checks are not completed, followed up and appropriately logged by the organisation.
